DIRECTORS OVERVIEW: WELCOME TO NEW ATLANTA

I was commisioned by Six11 magazine to shoot for their third issue focused on the art scene in the city of Atlanta, Georgia. It was a full circle moment for me for sure. We were shooting out of Cam Kirk Studios, a legendary space within the photography world and getting  photos there have been a personal goal of mine for as long as I’ve been shooting. Meeting and working with Prince and Jai’len were also an immense pleasure, everyone involved with this issue made this a very enjoyable experience.

DIRECTORS OVERVIEW: AZIZA’S EDITORIAL

I met Aziza during a model call and was immediately drawn to her. I decided to create a mock editorial shoot entirely centered around her being and frame. She had a history in dance and that was incorporated into the movement. The aim was to lean into dark femininity fueled by disinterest. My goal was for the final photos to convey this as well as being a demonstration of high fashion.

Concluding my series Rat Race I strayed from the intial two works I put out. Entering a new environment and donning diverse persona’s, true or not fueled my thought process. My mind went to the woman with toes pointed forward. Cessation of routine.
