I used this project as a way to spur myself back into my artistry. I had recently acquired new equipment and an idea to exercise my desire to create video content as well as execute a concept came to mind. The shoot is straightforward, straying from a complex undertone. The premise was to create an illusion of models taking mirror selfies in unlikely environments. I was intent on a stoic and confident pose so the individuals chosen were ones that I thought embody that with little effort. Styling ask was a casual, layered, boxy look inspired by cityscape and officewear with a focus on silhouette.

Eternal Madness came about at a time during which my conventional style of shooting began to feel suffocating. I sought to escape this cycle by putting more intent into the world build + relinquishing my ambition to control every aspect of the shoot. I incorporated the talents of Emari Baker and Hunter Wright to add a needed layer that I struggle with displaying through my photography alone. This project was inspired by Erick Sermons Music ft Marvin Gaye and Adrian Morgan’s Undeniable Aura.

COFFY’S ANGELS

Coffy’s Angels was a commission project underneath Iesha Daniels and Ivana Aku. Their goal was to execute a blaxploitation inspired project. As my flash photography tends to wash out color due to it’s film inspiration, my focus was finding a balance within properly celebrating darker skin tones.
